Trailing Lantana (Lantana Montevidensis)

This shrub is a colorful groundcovering and lives happily in San Francisco landscaping climates. They have a long season and light frosts merely keep their growth in check. You’ll also find birds and butterflies around them. Trailing varietals also offer some support in preventing erosion… how helpful!

Where They Do Well:

They prefer full sun and moderate temperatures, however, they are adaptable to most climate changes. If the freeze is deep enough, it may kill the plant, but our lovely San Francisco weather would never get that bad.

Maintenance:

Trailing Lantana needs a moderate amount of water. Remove any dead flowers and wood, but otherwise, the trailing part is what makes this a great plant.
