Project 5: 433 Kirkham Street
Sometimes we're called upon to fix other people's mistakes. A poorly constructed koi pond in this backyard needed to be replaced. The pond was too shallow, which left the koi vulnerable to raccoons, and an inadequate filtration system resulted in dirty water. We salvaged the fish and kept them in their existing water while we constructed a new pond.
The finished yard featured three decks, new grass, new redwood fences and a 500-pound Sago palm to the right of the pond.   The pond is now deep enough to protect the koi from raccoons.

An Egyptian paper reed and kafir lilies frame the pond.
